WHAT DOES BAPTISM MEAN FOR YOU?
tHE SYMBOLISM OF BAPTISM
Baptism is a powerful symbol of death to the old self
and new life in Christ. It’s an outward sign of an
inward change—your declaration that you belong to
Jesus. Through baptism, we identify with Christ's death,
burial, and resurrection, symbolizing the washing away
of sin and the beginning of a new life.
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism
into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from
the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may
live a new life.” — Romans 6:4
WHY BAPTISM BY IMMERSION?
Immersion is the method shown in Scripture and reflects
the full picture of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.
Being fully submerged represents dying to your old self and
rising again in newness of life. It’s a complete
act of obedience, just as Jesus Himself was baptized by immersion.
“As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of
the water. At that moment heaven was opened,
and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a
dove and alighting on him.” — Matthew 3:16
WHEN AND WHO SHOULD BE BAPTIZED?
Baptism is for anyone who has made a personal decision
to follow Jesus. It’s a step of obedience that follows your
faith in Christ, symbolizing your commitment. If you’ve accepted
Jesus as your Savior, baptism is your next step. Whether you’re
new to faith or have walked with Him for years, the right
time to be baptized is now.
“Those who accepted his message were baptized,
and about three thousand were added to
their number that day.” — Acts 2:41
